Mother’s Day hack if you booked flowers late and don’t have a car

Yes, for a minute I did forget about Mother’s Day which was like a week ago. I did feel real bad about that, but I was able to get flowers or roses two days before the big day, so I was pumped about that since I was late trying to book them for delivery.

I don’t have a car to drive to get flowers so I put in a Shipt order. Shipt happened to have flowers two days before Mother’s Day, so that was great. My shopper took some pictures and asked me which ones I wanted and a few days later mom loved the flowers and a Mother’s Day greeting card I got with the order! The store was Meijer where I put the Shipt order in at. I even looked on GoPuff and they had flowers too. Uber eats and there was another one I checked but they were all out of roses and other types of flowers. If you’re in the same boat as me and don’t have a car, then consider a grocery delivery service like Shipt. The flowers were beautiful and so fresh!

I didn’t get her candy though, but next year I will because Shipt had Mother’s Day candy too. Instead I got her a One4All gift card and put $100 on it. If you haven’t heard about One4All gift cards then let me tell you about them. With this card, the recipient can choose multiple stores or restaurants to shop at with one card. I think it’s like 100 stores they can choose from, so I thought that was neat and hopefully it made up for me not getting her any candy. She doesn’t need candy anyway because she is prediabetic.

Next year I’m going all out for Mother’s Day. My mother has been there for me since day one and has never given up on me. I can’t keep letting her down because she deserves more. Things have got to change. I’m 40 years old and still live at home. I need a career so blogging is it for me. Now that AI is taking all the jobs away, then I figure this is one thing I could do. Doing SEO is time consuming but I just need to be patient and put in the hours. About 20 years ago I had a website and I was making a little money from Google Ads around $300 a month for a few months but that wasn’t enough so I was very impatient to try and grow my site more. I then got me a warehouse job and ended up wasting my time with that because it got me absolutely nowhere in life. It was a complete setback but now I got SEO again so I’m doing that. I just want to make my mom happy because she worries when she dies that I won’t be able to take care of myself, so I have to take action now and just blog out!

Well, that is it folks! Take care!

The black cabs of London are very interesting #TIL

Wow! I just seen a 60 minutes show about the black cabs of London. The show was talking about how Wayve, which is an autonomous taxi cab service is taking over in London and competing with Lyft, Uber, and the historical black cabs of London.

One black cab driver who was on this show didn’t think that Wayve or those other cab services were going to take his spot and he was very confident in saying that. The reason why is because the cab drivers who drive the black cabs have to learn thousands of streets and they don’t depend on Google maps or any other digital maps, or GPS systems to get where they have to go. They even have to know the fastest way to get from point A to point B. The people who drive the black cabs take their jobs very serious. In London driving a black cab is considered a prestigious career and they are very well paid to do what they do.

Here in America people don’t take being a cab driver as seriously as they do in London. For London it’s a historical thing and the knowledge one must have adds to this prestige. The test they must take is super hard cause they are expected to know thousands of streets. On this 60 Minutes show they had one guy on there who had to retake the test 40+ times before he passed and another guy 20+ times. It’s very interesting how they take it seriously and the United States of America does not. I don’t look down on any cab driver from the US but it’s just interesting to me. Black cabs are part of London’s rich historical culture and the confident guy was sure that Wayve, Lyft, or Uber was not going to take his spot.

On this show they also said that autonomous taxis are 5 times more safer than humans driving cars and this higher up of the Wayve company said they have the statistics to show this statement is true. I don’t know yet about these driverless taxis. I’m afraid they’ll cause too many accidents. Once I see for many years safer statistics with robo taxis compared with human driver statistics, then maybe I’ll give this autonomous thing a try. What I won’t do is go to London on vacation and catch me a non black cab, because I want to experience their culture. Once I arrive back home I’ll catch Waymo, Lyft, or Uber I guess.

I loved that segment on 60 Minutes today! I’m glad I could share that with you all today. I’m finished so I’m about to head out. Take care!
